Offer Etiquette

I have a scheduled vacation. Who should I notify?

It's important to make sure that your recruiter is aware of your planned time off during the offer conversation. This gives Human Resources the opportunity to work with your supervisor to see if it can be approved and included in the hiring process.

I have accepted an offer elsewhere or am no longer interested in this position. Do I need to let you know?

We appreciate your interest and understand that you may have accepted an offer elsewhere or may no longer be interested in applying. It is important that you notify us so that we can update our records with your status. Failure to notify us or show up to a scheduled interview is interpreted as a no-show and documented in your profile for future consideration. Please call or send us an email to let us know. We thank you for your time and consideration and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

How long do I have to think over the offer presented?
We understand that joining a new organization is a big decision. We want to make sure you have enough time to think over the offer and to discuss with others. Generally, we ask for a decision within 24-48 hours. This allows us to keep the process moving forward while being mindful of other candidates.

Onboarding

What is required after I accept a job?

After an offer is accepted, you'll need to complete references, a pre-employment health assessment, and a background check and education verification. All offers are contingent upon successful completion of each:

  • References — References should include a current supervisor, where possible, as well as others who are able to comment on the applicant’s performance and behaviors in the workplace.
  • Pre-employment Health Assessment — If references are successful, you’ll be scheduled for a pre-employment health assessment which consists of an immunization review, a body mechanics exam, and a urine drug/alcohol screen. The assessment is focused on requirements outlined in the job description.
  • Background Check and Education Verification — If references are successful, you’ll receive a link to start the process for the Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and education verification.

What does orientation look like?

Orientation for new hires typically begins with paperwork completion in Human Resources. After that, depending on the position, there may be either a house-wide or self-learning orientation. For those holding clinical positions, there is a Clinical Orientation as well. Human Resources works with each new hire to determine an appropriate start date and make sure that the orientation process is completed successfully.
