A retired orthopedic surgeon, Jim brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, expertise and passion to the board.
Dr. Slattery is the Past President of the Foundation Board. He also serves on the Finance Committee and the Grants and Gifts Committee.
A native of Iowa, Dr. Slattery received his undergraduate and medical school degrees at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He completed a five-year orthopedic residency at UW-Madison and practiced for eight years at Quisling Clinic. He joined Orthopedic Associates in 1989 where he worked until his retirement in 2001.
Dr. Slattery initially served on the Foundation board from 2002-2011, including a two-year term as president in 2005 and 2006.
Dr. Slattery is interested in history with a special focus on photography. He curated an exhibit of the photographs of Dr. E.A. Bass for the Montello Historical Society. He has volunteered at the Wisconsin State Historical Society, working on photographic collections for many years.
Dr. Slattery lives in Roxbury Township and enjoys gardening and travel.
