Sauk Prairie Healthcare Receives Five-Star

Sauk Prairie Healthcare is proud to announce Sauk Prairie Hospital has received a five-star ranking from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Sauk Prairie Healthcare is one of only 6 hospitals in Wisconsin to receive the five-star ranking in 2016.

“Our doctors and staff work each and every day to ensure the best care possible regardless of a ranking or award,” said Larry Schroeder, Sauk Prairie Healthcare CEO. “We are pleased that our work is being recognized and that patients have valuable information at their fingertips.”

CMS awarded five-star ratings to 102 hospitals, which is about only 2% of the nation’s hospitals. The most common overall rating is 3 stars. “It’s critical that patients understand the quality of care a hospital delivers,” added Schroeder.

The ratings are based on performance in more than 60 measures selected from the hospital inpatient and outpatient quality reporting programs, which include mortality, safety, readmissions, patient experience, timeliness and effectiveness of care and imaging efficiency.
