I got the vaccine for many reasons, including to provide that extra layer of protection for my patients. I see immunocompromised patients in my practice every day. We all have immunocompromised loved ones in our lives, whether it be a neighbor, friend, or family member. Maybe they have a serious condition like cancer, heart disease, or diabetes. Maybe they smoke or have asthma or are overweight. The risk of serious complications and death are real in these people.
