Top Performer Status in Safety, Quality Given to Sauk Prairie Healthcare

Sauk Prairie Healthcare achieved Top Performer Status from Wisconsin Hospital Association's (WHA) CheckPoint in six measure categories, including Hip and Knee Surgery Complications, Patient Experience, Patient Safety – All Patients, Patient Safety – Patients with Surgery, Mortality – Conditions, and Readmissions. Achieving Top Performer Status means Sauk Prairie Healthcare ranks in the top 10% for these six measure categories.

“What makes the CheckPoint status extra special is it’s a Wisconsin-only recognition. Wisconsin overall is known to have higher quality healthcare than many other parts of the country. So ranking in the top 10% when compared to our Wisconsin peers is special because the competition is fierce and full of quality healthcare providers,” said Shawn Lerch, CEO of Sauk Prairie Healthcare. “Our team provides safe, extraordinary care and it’s an honor to see this spotlight on their hard work.”

Developed and maintained by WHA, CheckPoint is a voluntary hospital reporting program that encompasses over 45 quality and safety measures in nine categories. All 128 acute care and critical access hospitals in Wisconsin report on measures that are applicable to the patient populations they serve.
