Natalie Hanson, APNP, Joins Plain Clinic

Sauk Prairie Healthcare is pleased to welcome Natalie Hanson, APNP, to Plain Clinic. Hanson is an advanced practice nurse prescriber (APNP) who provides a broad range of healthcare services. She will join Dr. Jeffrey Collins and work collaboratively to support Plain Clinic patients and also provide access for new patients at this location.

“We’re thrilled to have Natalie join our clinic and open up more access to appointments again. She and I will work closely and come up with care plans together,” said Dr. Collins. “We were fortunate to get to know her when she did her clinical training at one of our other primary care clinics, so we know she’s very capable and good at what she does.”

Hanson has had her eye on a healthcare career since she was young. “I always loved going to doctor’s appointments as a kid, so I had an idea that I wanted to enter healthcare for a career. When I was in third grade I had surgery, and I loved how the nurses made me feel so comfortable and safe. I wanted to be able to give that care to people.”

To Hanson, communication and building relationships with patients is important to providing great care. “I want to create an environment for patients that makes them feel comfortable sharing those more personal health issues with me and that I’m going to do everything to provide them with the best care. I want to make it feel less like a doctor’s appointment and more like it’s going to see a friend.”

Born in Madison, Hanson grew up in Richland Center. She earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Southwest Tech in Fenimore, her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Viterbo University in La Crosse, and her master’s degree in nursing – family nurse practitioner from Edgewood College in Madison. Her areas of interest include primary care, family medicine, preventative care, pediatrics, geriatrics, and assisting with same day care access for Plain Clinic patients.

Hanson moved back to Richland Center with her husband, son, and two dogs. “Plain Clinic is close to home, and I like the hometown feel and being able to provide care in a small town. The team and Dr. Collins make it a very warm and welcoming clinic. I’m very excited to join them.”

Hanson will begin seeing patients in January 2025. To inquire for an appointment with her, call Plain Clinic at 608-546-4211.
