Are you frustrated by nutrition and struggling to meet your health goals? Our registered dietitian nutritionists at Sauk Prairie Healthcare are here to help make nutrition easier and support you in achieving your health goals.
There is a lot of information on the internet and in the media about nutrition. It makes it very confusing for many to know what to eat and what is the best way to eat for their health. Our registered dietitians focus on providing you with guidance and support that is based on science so that you can achieve your health goals. These experts in the field of nutrition are available to work with you one on one to help you achieve your health goals.
Registered dietitian nutritionists are food and nutrition experts who translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living. They are trained in the use of nutrition to prevent and control disease. The initials RD or RDN after your nutritionist’s name indicate your practitioner has completed an accredited four-year educational program as well as the required service hours of supervised practice. They stay up-to-date by completing continuing professional education requirements.
Your registered dietitian nutritionist at Sauk Prairie Healthcare can provide nutrition counseling and education related to the following and more:
Initial nutrition visits are typically one hour and follow up visits are around 30 minutes. In your first visit, we will discuss your nutrition history in detail including your typical intake, your lifestyle, and how that relates to your food choices. This visit may also include some nutrition education depending on your individual situation and needs.
At the end of each visit, you will work with your registered dietitian to develop goals that you wish to work on prior to your next visit. Your dietitian will work with you on a follow up plan that will best meet your nutrition and health needs.
Some insurance plans pay part or all of your fee to see a registered dietitian nutritionist. Insurance coverage varies so please check with your insurance provider for coverage information. In addition, many insurance companies or employers offer a wellness benefit that may be used to see a registered dietitian nutritionist. Medicare allows a certain number of visits for people with diabetes or chronic kidney disease. Check with your provider to determine if you are eligible to see a registered dietitian nutritionist under Medicare.
