Our compassionate, board-certified Pediatricians Dr. Andrea Chao and Dr. Kia Nelson provide primary care for young people from birth through age 18 so they can grow and thrive physically, emotionally, and cognitively. We recognize how parents worry when their child is sick or injured and the child’s condition can impact the family unit as a whole. As their mother or father, you can rely on our team to provide the support and guidance you need to ensure a healthy future.
Caring for young people means more than taking them to the doctor when they are unwell. In fact, it’s important to bring your child to the doctor for routine checkups as they develop from infancy through their teenage years. Children are not miniature versions of adults, because they are constantly growing and developing, even on a weekly or monthly basis. These well-child checkups are also an opportunity for your child’s pediatrician to keep your children up to date on their necessary vaccinations.
Expectant parents are encouraged to choose a Pediatrician for their unborn child before their baby is delivered. That’s because it ensures well-child visits begin immediately. Our Pediatricians will teach you, as the parents, how to care for your baby once you bring them home in those first few days and weeks you are adapting to the new addition to your family. Make sure to ask any questions or voice your concerns during your child’s doctor appointments, as well as communicate any relevant changes you’ve noticed since their previous appointment. Rest assured that no question, concern, or comment is unusual.
We offer the following age-specific care:
Whether you bring your child to a Pediatrician for a fever, injury, or chronic health condition diagnosis and management (among other reasons), we are here to help. Our care team wants our young patients to thrive not only physically, but emotionally and socially, too. If your child has a medical condition that requires additional pediatric expertise, we will coordinate their care.
