Gynecologic surgery at Sauk Prairie Healthcare is truly unique — a distinctive combination of medical expertise, convenience, and compassion. We offer the state-of-the-art care you’d expect from a “big-city” hospital, yet our more intimate size means our patients’ entire experience is more personal. And, unlike most hospitals, our team is dedicated solely to gynecologic surgery, so we’re better able to attend to the physical and emotional needs of women who undergo these procedures.
We offer the full range of gynecologic surgical care for women of all ages. Our capabilities include treatment of uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), incontinence, potential precancerous conditions, and cancers of the female reproductive tract. In addition, we provide laparoscopic infertility evaluation and treatment, hysterectomy, and non-invasive tubal sterilization.
We know that environment can play a key role in our patients’ recovery, so we strive to make their stay as pleasant as possible with features like:
Our patients tell us that one of the things they appreciate most is the way we guide them through every step of the process. We’ll conduct a pre-operative evaluation with the surgeon, and provide written instructions about the procedure, how to prepare, and what to expect after surgery.
We also call patients just prior to surgery to answer any last-minute questions or concerns. And one of our pharmacists contacts each patient to discuss medications and offer instructions about any adjustments needed prior to surgery.
Our patients receive care from either of two experienced surgeons who personally oversee each case and conduct each surgery. Both doctors are board-certified and versed in traditional gynecologic surgery and the latest minimally invasive procedures that minimize discomfort and speed recovery.
